I love that this is post is a culmination of tons of “self help” books in just a short read. Great insight and great reminder

Yup, it’s why I stopped reading self-help books. Once you read a few good ones, the content heavily overlaps across the books and just becomes more of a bore to read

100% agree here. I think Stillness Is The Key - Ryan Holiday, The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz, and Ikigai by Hector Garcia are great starts and can encompass all you need.

As a music lover, like many others, I listen to music 70-80% of my day. At the gym, at work, during my commute. I’ve always thought that music was my motivator to keep me entertained while I focused on the task at hand, but now I wonder if listening to music constantly is doing more harm than good. I’ve noticed this in younger generations too, how dependent they are on music. Even to the extent of going to family dinners with at least 1 earbud in their ears. Is the inability to be in silence harming our ability to self reflect without being influenced by the genre of music in our playlists?

Yes. Early this year I broke my routine of listening to music or podcasts during my daily exercise workout or walk. This has resulted in a major improvement in my mental health (stress levels, for example) and my creative output. Also clarity of thinking and problem solving. When quiet replaces distraction the mind reforms how it engages with the body and soul.

Everything in this post is 🔥!! I read it twice and then listened to it as I feel that everything you wrote resonated with the sad way I've been living my life. You broke it all down into something so simple, that there's absolutely no excuse one could make for not trying to implement these steps into their lives. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this with the world!!🤯🫶 💚💚💙💙🩷🩷💛💛🩵🩵🧡🧡❤️❤️🩶🩶🤍🤍🖤🖤

Do you say that we need an hour a day of each of the three options or we need an hour a day of the three together?
